This past weekend was spent mostly trying to keep David entertained and dry at the same time. It rained on Friday afternoon so there wasn't much we could offer David in terms of outdoor entertainment. We spent the evening playing with his tools and reading books. At some point during the evening, typically right before bedtime, Richard will lay down on the floor with a pillow. This usually prompts David to grab a pillow of his own and lay down by daddy. Most of the time David will lay in that position until we announce that it's time for a new diaper and rocking- which he knows means bedtime. He does faily well with the routine, he even started saying "night night" and waving to the parent that is not doing the rocking.
Saturday was sunny so David got to spend a lot of time outdoors. Tricia (friend from Richard's previous ferry commute to Bainbridge Island) came over for dinner and David was kind enough to show off his dance moves. That little guy can wiggle his butt and shake his arms like nothing I've seen before. His music of choice this time around was 90s hits but previously he's been a fan of country and R&B. Really I think as long as it's got a good beat he'll dance to it. He raises his arms up and down when he dances. His hands are always balled up into little fists. It's so cute to watch though- I have tons of video. Maybe I'll try loading that tomorrow.
Sunday it rained again so most of our day was spent inside. We started a 7 week series at church and kicked it off with a small group meeting last night. David stayed at the Nelson's house because Floyd's parents are visiting from Texas and were going to watch Molly.
I spent some time on Saturday and Sunday finishing up the grouting project in the master shower. Now we just need to let it dry for a few days and then apply some caulk. I'm glad that project is done with. It will be nice to shower in the master bath again. Seems like any time we need to shower in the hall bathroom David decides he's dirty too and you always end up sharing the shower with him.
Nothing exciting planned for the week until Friday. Richard and I are both taking the day off to work on the house. Specifically out in the yard. We need some uninterupted time to get things cleaned up for the coming winter months and we're running out of time to get some fence posts in the ground and landscaping done before the cold settles in. Lucky for us, Seattle doesn't really see any frost and by "cold" I mean in the 50s.
